“You must meet him.”
Those were Austin Coppock’s words to me in relation to Gordon White and the highly anticipated event, So Below, back in 2018.
And meet we did.
At the after party among astrologers, magicians, the weird and the wonderful, it was though Moses himself parted the sea of people and Gordon and I were introduced.
I met someone familiar, someone I knew before. Siblings in a past life. Possibly even twins if you knew our charts.
A few months later, he was in Brisbane for a speaking event. He invited me for drinks with the people he was staying with. I thought it was one of those occasions where it was a polite invite. You know, the kind where, “hey I’m in town and having some people over, so you’re welcome to come”. I expected there would be several people there, but it was only me, another friend of Gordon’s and day drinking.
A long day of day drinking.
Gordon returned home and it nearly burned down. Once that fury was turned around, we loosely planned a “domestic domination tour.” We discussed doing some joint events around Australia about astrology and magic.
Covid happened and we didn’t see each other again for over five years. He celebrated his 40th in Far North Queensland and stopped via Brisbane upon his return. At the 11th hour, he opted for an early flight back home so we were unable to connect. Every one of our plans was thwarted by the very events he spent his life and career preparing us for.
However, when it was my mother’s plan to leave this world, late at night he guided me to help her separate her soul from her body. I had drunk a lot of scotch that night and wasn’t sure if I was doing the protocols he gave me correctly, to which he said, “the dead like spirit offerings.” Classic Gordon.
It wasn’t until 2024 when he attended my astrology forecast workshop that we finally saw each other since 2019. Fortunately, we did again just six months ago.
This was the magic of Gordon. His chaos, his intensity, his authenticity, his light. He really was one of a kind. Even the most irregular touch points were profound.
To many he was a mentor, a teacher, a healer a guide.
To me he was my friend, my spirit brother.
It’s hard to believe you are gone but I know you are home.
And while the loss is unfathomable, the Rune Soup community has gained a formidable spirit team member, possibly when we need it the most.
The last message I received from him was the word, constantly.
No doubt, he’ll be constantly with us and making manoeuvres to ensure we find the others.
Thank you G.
