Why to Visit Bath, UK ?
Bath in Somerset is a must-visit for anyone traveling to London. This historic city is famous for its Georgia era architecture which got featured in Netflix drama series Bridgerton. The city of Bath is UNESCO World Heritage site. It is the only city in the UK with this accolade, thanks to its Roman remains and 18th-century architecture. Bath is lovely city with beautiful mountain backdrops, known for its Roman Baths and Spas. The Hotel Indigo Bath is the perfect choice for relaxation and wellness as well as admiring the history of the city.

Hotel Indigo Bath Overview
Hotel Indigo Bath is a absolutely best place to stay in Bath while immersing yourself in this historically rich city. Following millions of pound restoration project over four years, the beautiful honey-colored Georgian Terrace property opened its doors in September 2020. Despite a massive renovation, it retained all the charms of the 18th century but now with modern conveniences.
Why To stay at Hotel Indigo Bath: Central Location
The first thing I noticed about the Hotel was the location. It’s just short 5 minutes walk from the Bath Spa Train Station(regular services from London Paddington, takes 1.5 hours). Bath is also well connected by road, just 10 miles from M4 Junction 18, easily accessible by drive.
I really loved visiting Bath because of its central location in the UK. It’s easy to access from most cities and makes an excellent place for a weekend trip. And Hotel Indigo seems perfect choice to stay in Bath.
The hotel is located in quiet South Parade area, just short five minutes walk from city’s main attractions like Roman Baths and Bath Abbey. It’s a 6 minute walk to Pulteney Bridge and 13 minutes to the Jane Austen Centre. The location of the hotel will not disappoint you!
Whether you want to visit the Roman Baths, shop in downtown, or visit nearby museums and spend evening along the River Avon banks, you don’t have to walk very far. Also, there are lots of pubs, bars and restaurants just a few minutes walk away. Everything is accessible by walk! I will say 10/10 for the location of the Hotel indigo Bath.
Arrival and check-in at Hotel Indigo Bath
Hotel indigo occupies much of the elegant terrace with outdoor sitting in the front. Upon entering the hotel, I felt incredibly warm and welcoming! As I entered I was just fell in love with the design and architecture of the Lobby!
The lobby is attractively furnished with squashy sofas, fire pit, and beautiful paintings. You can relax for a while while waiting for your turn at the check in! The decor speaks of so much creativity and design!
On arrival, we received a warm welcome from the front desk team, and asked us to complete the formality for the check-in. As we arrived at 10 AM in the morning, our room was not ready! But they told us to store our bags and will call once the room is ready! So, we decided to explore around the Bath.
Later, in afternoon we asked at check-in desk for our room and luggage. We got our room keys, and our luggage was already waiting for us in the room at first floor. The corridors of hotel has luxurious thick carpets while the walls are lined with photos of Regency era Bath and old maps. They uses the playing card denoting room numbers on the bedroom doors, which looks so much fun and I hadn’t see something like this previously.
The elegantly designed hotel with decor draped in beautiful colors, and interiors will appeal you the most! When I decided to visit Bath, my sole reason to stay at Hotel Indigo was its elegant decor, and I am glad I stayed here! The staff is friendly, warm and welcoming.
Rooms at Hotel Indigo, Bath
Hotel Indigo Bath has 154 guest rooms suitable for all budget and needs designed with five themes reflecting the local history — from architects, novelists, and creatives who helped to make Bath famous.
The rooms are spread over six floors (with a lift) and include standard, premier, and larger suites with a separate living area.
Regardless of your room type, all the rooms are equipped with standard things, including comfortable Hypnos beds with luxury Egyptian cotton linens, Nespresso coffee machine, high-speed Wi-Fi, a 40” flat-screen TV, a hairdryer, a mini-fridge, a kettle, and an iron and ironing board. Rooms have a King sized bed or twin beds and there are several rooms which are accessible by wheelchair users.
Our Room
Our elegant room was at first floor with high ceiling, ornate cornice, and large windows, overlooking the church in the square. We booked standard room, but got upgraded to premium Suit room with twin beds together. I really loved the upgrade.
The bed was huge with comfortable mattress, and topped with designer cushions, comfortable to rest while watching TV or resting. There was also a blue armchair with matching footstool and a dressing table/desk with an additional chair.
There was a wardrobe equipped with a mini fridge, iron, and ironing board. The contents of the mini fridge were complimentary and included wine, beer, soft drinks, and cookies etc. We were totally spoilt for the choices! Additionally, a Nespresso coffee maker with a selection of pods was there on side table.
But the highlight of our stay was the incredible bathroom. It felt like a luxurious Spa, hello to dreamy claw shaped bath tub! It features roll-top bath and a walk-in rainfall shower, with luxury toiletries. The bathroom has elegant english design, white tiles on walls are blended well with intricately patterned black and white floor tiles.
The towels and bathrobes are made of high-quality materials, and they also provide you slippers. The bathrooms even have a speaker built into the ceiling to listen to TV audio while bathing. Little details like this make Indigo Hotel Bath one of the best places to stay in Bath.
Dining Options at Hotel Indigo Bath
Inside Hotel indigo Bath, you’ll have two dining options.
The Elder restaurant is an independent, fine dining restaurant owned by award-winning restaurateur Mike Robinson. The restaurant serves sumptuous British cuisine, focuses on serving exceptional, locally sourced, seasonal food.
The Elder restaurant and bar are independently run and owned by restaurateur Mike Robinson with Gavin Edney as Executive Chef. You’ll enjoy bespoke cocktails and a 7 course set dinner in elegant surroundings, and a gorgeous bar with an Art-Deco vibe.
As hotel guests you’ll have breakfast here. You can also book a table for lunch/dinner or have a drink and snack at the bar during the day and evening.
It’s a little pricey for dining but perfect for occasional treat! The Elder is open Wednesday to Saturday from 6 PM to 11 PM.
You can also dine at Brasserie Beau, run by a Michelin star winning chef. It has seating for 100, an outdoor terrace and serves dishes made solely from British ingredients. Their French onion soup gruyère sourdough croutons is amazing. You can also try their specials like traditional Sunday roast dinner.
Brasserie Beau is open everyday from 12 PM to 9:30 PM. Hotel Indigo guests can also enjoy In-room dining from 12 AM to 10 PM.
The Facilities
In addition to the restaurants, Hotel Indigo Bath boasts an attractive bar with beautiful seating both indoors and outside when the weather is nice.
You’ll find a living room area beside the reception desk with comfy chairs and sofas as well as fireplace. It is perfect place to sit and relax or reading books or morning newspapers! Their lobby lounge is also elegant with beautiful decor.
There is a small gym in the vaulted basement of the hotel featuring weights and cardio machines. I think you probably haven’t worked out anywhere like this – you’ll feel like in Hogwarts! The gym is open daily from 6 AM to 10 PM.
You’ll find ice making machines near lift to fill ice buckets as needed. If it’s raining, umbrellas are available to hire at the property. I really loved this service, it is very useful if bags are heavy to pack umbrellas or weather changes suddenly!
Parking
The only thing Hotel indigo lacks is its own car Park. However, hotel has limited Valet parking in a secured space at £40 per car per night – pre booking is essential. But if the car park is full, there are also two public car parks available nearby.
Manvers Street costs £18 for 24 hours whilst Southgate car park costs at £16 for 24 hours. For a cheaper alternative you can can use the park and ride service which allows overnight parking. but limited valet parking is available.
Hotel Indigo Bath Review: Final Thoughts
Overall, Hotel Indigo is one of the best boutique hotels in Bath. I really enjoyed my stay at Indigo Hotel Bath.
The location of the hotel is unbeatable. Bath is very walkable city and hotel is very near to all major sightseeing places! After the long day of sightseeing, you may need short walk to your hotel! Also, the hotel is just 5 minutes walk from Bath Spa Station. So, you’ll only need a short walk with your luggage to reach hotel.
The amenities are excellent, and the staff is very warm and hospitable. The rooms are beautifully decorated, well lit and spacious. My trip to Bath was really memorable, because I chose to stay at Hotel Indigo Bath.
Overall, if you want an comfortable, centrally located hotel in Bath, with stylish rooms and great amenities, as well as value for money, I highly recommend Hotel Indigo Bath. I would definitely love to book this hotel again during my future visit to Bath.
