The Good:

Baaghi 4 blends retro Hindi cinema with a modern-day concept. This kind of fierce love story brings back the nostalgia of the 90s-era Hindi movies. However, its narrative and presentation have been ultra-modernized to suit the new generation of action-thriller lovers. There are a lot of twists and turns, along with the thrill created by Ronnie’s identity crisis and pursuit of his love.

The action scenes in Baaghi 4 are over the top! I bet you would have barely come across such raw, intense, bloody, and gruesome fights and stunts anytime before. Apart from the hard-hitting action, there are a lot of melodramatic and intimidating dialogues that raise the screenplay’s aura.

Tiger Shroff carries the entire burden of the Baaghi franchise on his muscular shoulders, as this film series is all about his character, Ronny. His screen presence with wild action and intimidating dialogue delivery is massive. He has indeed given a stellar performance with his action stunts, which he is well known for.

The female leads, Harnaaz Sandhu as Ronnie’s girlfriend and Sonam Bajwa as his companion, have given their best efforts. Sanjay Dutt as the lead villain, Chacko, and Saurabh Sachdeva as his villainous brother Paulo appear menacing. The supporting cast, including Shreyas Talpade, Upendra Limaye, and Sudesh Lehri, are entertaining.

But let me tell you, these songs have been well woven into the film’s serious narrative, and they perfectly fit into its storyline. The Bad:

Even though the action may look cool to some, to be honest, such excessive violence and gruesome bloodshed shown in the second half of Baaghi 4 may be hard to digest for women, children, and older people.

Tiger shines, but he fails to reign as the King of the Jungle! Although he has tried out some marvelous action stunts with stupendous dialogue delivery, his blank expressions are a minus point in his acting performance. Moreover, the story of Baaghi 4 might be gripping and the drama engaging, but the second half loses its shine with exaggerated emotions and melodrama. Still, the climax fight scene made up for this loss.

A disappointing fact for heavy action lovers like me is that the Indian Censor Board made 23 cuts before allowing the release of this film! Such was the gruesomeness of some of its action scenes. When the trailer of this film came out, I was excited that this was going to be a sure-shot slasher. But wait! When it was finally released in theaters, the scenes in the trailer that got me so excited to watch this film were not present in it! A lot of thrill as well as the film’s actual screen time have already gone down the drain in the name of censorship. The Censor Board had completely dissected this film before its release, and cropped out its slasher time to destroy the real fun and excitement.

The Verdict: The New-Age Action Mania!

Even if there have been a lot of cuts, it doesn’t spoil the fierce action avatar of Tiger Shroff. If you are so thrilled by Baaghi 4’s story, then let me break your hearts by telling you that this is just a copy of the 2013 Tamil-language romantic action-thriller “Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu”. Even though a copy, Baaghi 4 is a thrilling entertainer. People might have long forgotten that 2013 Tamil movie. So, let’s check out this intense Bollywood remake!

A fact that amazes me is how often the protagonist Ronny changes his girlfriends in all the films of the Baaghi franchise. Every time, it’s a different lead actress who is Ronny’s love interest. Jokes apart, you wouldn’t want to miss this “victim of fate” lover boy go wild with his thunderous action at your nearest theaters!
