Pacific Coralroot, Corallorhiza mertensiana… – PNW BOTANY

Pacific Coralroot, Corallorhiza mertensiana (Orchidaceae). 🌸

A new orchid species for me! These were so PINK compared to other coralroots I’ve seen. This species used to be considered a subspecies of C. maculata. The species name is after German botanist Franz Carl Mertens.
