On 17 February 2026, 12:12 PM UT, there will be an annular solar eclipse. The duration of the eclipse will be 1 hour 57 minutes. Annularity, (which will last 2 min 5 sec), will be visible over Antarctica only. However, the partial eclipse will be visible from the very southern tip of Argentina and Chile, as well as in much of Southern Africa (including South Africa, Mozambique, and Madagascar).
The chart, cast for Buenos Aires, shows the event:
Before we will discuss any possible effects on the individual, we have a look at the mundane astrological implications of this eclipse. To be able to do this, we need to establish where the eclipse is likely to have its greatest effect. For this purpose we need to look at the countries falling under the rulership of Aquarius, the sign wherein the eclipsed Sun resides during the event. We also have to take into consideration that the eclipse’s visibility will greatly enhance its effect. Looking through traditional source material, we find that, according to William Lilly, Tartary, Croatia, Wallachia, Muscovia, German Westphalia, Piedmont in Savoy, West- and South Bavaria, Media, and Arabia are the locations traditionally thought to fall under the rulership of Aquarius.
Next, we have a look at an animated map showing the path of visibility:
The map below shows the eclipse’s path of angularity, where one can see that the lines of angularity runs close to Washington, London, and Paris, which could indicate a mundane effect to take place. None of these cities are ruled by Saturn though, which lessens the possibility of a drastic effect.

The Sun is placed in the third Decanate of Aquarius, ruled by the Moon . Therefore we have to look at the Moon as co-ruler together with Saturn for this. William Lilly writes in his Easie and Familiar Method whereby to Judge the effects depending on Eclipses, that this placement:
“… it tells of the death of field Cattel and such like creatures, it shews great inundation to succeed the Eclips.”
Generally speaking, an eclipse usually affects only a small number of people. To establish the possibility of any effect to take place, the birth chart should be scrutinised for any of the following:
The eclipse Sun (29* Aquarius) is conjunct or opposite any of your natal planets.
The eclipse Sun (29* Aquarius) is culminating in the birth chart (conjunct natal Midheaven)
The eclipse Sun (29* Aquarius) is ascending in the birth chart (conjunct Ascendant)
The current Solar Return chart should be inspected in this respect, too!
